My take on the Milton Glaser’s iconic NY t-shirt design has been adapted for the RCA, and was initially bastardised as ‘I don’t mind NY’ and ‘ I don’t mind UK’ The paradoxical characteristic of the great British reserve within such a proclamation is of course full of love. Understatement has often made me laugh. My late father would always say that he wasn’t bothered if you asked him if he wanted to celebrate his birthday. Years ago I once sent the image to Milton Glaser at his NY studio, and a few months later I received a one word reply in the form of ‘HA!’.
