Door Wedge Slingbacks designed and produced in collaboration with Tabitha Ringwood. Through the re-articulation of Poundland door wedges for heel blocks, our designs subvert the traditional divide between ‘high’ and ‘low’ materiality. The original door wedge is cast in polyurethane rubber, allowing iterations to be reproduced in exact colours that match our woven and leather uppers. This process re-contextualises the door wedge as an object of beauty: Visually and conceptually ‘driving a wedge’ between preconceptions that divide ‘luxury’ and ‘lo-fi’ materiality in fashion.
